Claire Cogan

Founder

Following a career of more than 25 years with leading blue-chip companies, Claire founded BehaviourWise to help people and organisations achieve better outcomes through behaviour change.

Claire qualified as a behavioural scientist in 2020, completing a masters with merit in Behavioural Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She was awarded distinctions in research methods and behavioural decision science. She also holds an honours degree in International Marketing, Spanish and French from Dublin City University, and is trained in leadership skills and as a business coach.

Before setting up BehaviourWise Claire built her career at leading global companies including Britvic, Unilever and Kerry Group, and international research agencies GlobalData and Kantar Millward Brown. Having lived and worked in nine different countries while building her career, she gained an appreciation for working in different cultural contexts. During a varied career Claire headed insight teams, led organisational change programmes, acted as advisor to boards on strategic issues and designed and delivered research to direct strategy. Much of her work has had behaviour change at its heart. She has commissioned multiple strategic research projects, many of which were nominated for research excellence awards. She has also worked as a research practitioner. From 2015 to 2018, Claire sat on the adjudication panel for the Marketing Society of Ireland Market Research Excellence Awards. Claire is a member of the Irish Behavioural Economics Forum, the Irish Behavioural Science and Policy Network, the Marketing Society of Ireland, the Association for the Study of Obesity in Ireland and the Bord Bia Origin Green Community.

Claire has a professional reputation for integrity, a collaborative leadership style, strong influencing skills, and an ability to make complex issues easy to understand. She is fascinated by what drives human behaviour and her curiosity to learn more led her to LSE to become a Behavioural Scientist. She combines her scientific background with years of practical experience to advise her clients.
