Sustainable Living at Bloom 2026
It was a pleasure to participate in a panel discussion on waste segregation and recycling under the theme of Sustainable Living at Bord Bia’s Bloom Festival 2026 on Saturday. This is the twentieth year of Bloom, Ireland’s favourite festival of gardening, food and sustainable living.
Together with Dr. Joanne Rourke of MyWaste Ireland, and David Tobin of Panda, we discussed the challenge of improving waste segregation and recycling behaviour if we are to achieve our national recycling targets and create a more circular economy.
Research by BehaviourWise to support MyWaste Ireland’s ‘Take a Minute, Before you Bin It!’ campaign revealed the barriers that can get in the way of correctly segregating waste and how they can be overcome.

It was great to see people interested and curious about how we can do better at recycling, and to be part of Bloom Festival – always such positive and uplifting experience!
